Running for the USCF Board

Russell,
Just want to mention that I didn’t get your petition as of yet. Do you have my address?
Thanks,
Anjelina

WOW! The time is flying by! Today is the last day of my Fall semester teaching at UA, but it is also got much closer to the December 31st deadline… :exclamation:

So far, it looks like I have plenty of USCF members signatures (it is quite exciting to receive all this support!), but I am still short on 9 Delegates. Any volunteers to help?

Sincerely, Anjelina

I mailed it to the USCF office.

(writing as chair of the Election Committee)

This was probably a mistake. While I hope the office would handle receipt of individual petitions correctly, I think by far the safest method would be to send signed petitions to the candidate. The candidate would then submit all the petitions and the $100 filing fee to the office.

Thanks, Russell!

Ken,

How should I interpret your post? I also have one of the Delegates sending signed petition directly (I have a scan of it, though)… Am I in danger of USCF “losing” it? Were there any precedents?

Sincerely,
Anjelina

Fellow Delegates on the Forum:

Please seriously consider signing Anjelina’s petition. Whether she is a better choice than the two incumbents running remains to be seen, but USCF would benefit by having a contested election and she is certainly a qualified candidate. Let’s make sure she gets on the ballot and USCF members have a choice. And as an added bonus, we can silence those who bemoan the lack of a contested election and more soundly assess voter turnout, facilitating an evaluation as to whether we are satisfied with our election processes.

Remember that signing her petition does not commit you to voting for her. It just affirms “yes, she deserves to be on the ballot”. I hope forum delegates put her over the top quickly.

Thanks, Russell! It was received by USCF.

Thanks, Mike!

Yes, I agree with you - let me play the game first, then judge my performance
The good news - I expect to have all the necessary signatures shortly! As of now, I have 9 originals + 3 scans and am awaiting today’s mail delivery… Still, I would love to receive signatures from all who want to give me a chance to compete in the Elections!

I hope you don’t mind it took me a few days to acknowledge your much appreciated “call to action” - I was busy organizing 4th Individual and Family Team Chess Tournament in Tucson on Saturday - facebook.com/media/set/?set … 1085768483 and running my Chess Academy on Sunday.

Best regards,
Anjelina

Great News - I have got all the signatures I needed and some more and should be all ready to participate in the elections! Moreover, the scans were emailed to USCF and the Priority Mail with the originals has been delivered to USCF by USPS on December 20th (I am waiting for the confirmation from USCF, though). THANK YOU ALL for your help!

Meanwhile, NYU Alumni Magazine just published a Winter 2014 issue with my life story in pictures (pages 56-57) en.calameo.com/read/0039822742e15e808c3e3
What a great timing!

Thanks again to all of you for your support, as I look forward to participate in the USCF Executive Board Elections!

Have a Wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely, Anjelina
