At least the screw-up is not in one of my sections.
Re-rating a tournament for political reasons?! Even Sam Sloan would never have suggested doing something like that!
Couldn’t they have simply rerated the one section?
There’s no way to add two players to a section after it’s been rated, just like there is no way to add a section to an event after it’s been rated.
Neither of those are something that happens often enough to write a module for that, probably less than once a month, so how we handle those occasional situations is to delete the entire event and resubmit another event with the additional players or sections in them.
Couldn’t it have been put in as an “Extra Rated Games” section?
No fair! That game was not reported to the Open section chief! It wasn’t his fault!

The decision as to whether to put it the ‘extra games’ section or in the Open Section is one that was apparently made by the organizer, not the TDs.
That wouldn’t have affected the way it needed to be processed yesterday, adding players to any section or adding another section both require that the old event ID be deleted and replaced with a new event ID.
One must ferret out this information - do not be satisfied with the slips of paper that make it to your InBox!
