Did send in the early renewal of the affiliate membership. Went into the “join/renew”. It has to be done manural, as I put it as “Grand Rapids Area Chess Club” when the MSA has it as “Grand Rapids Area CC”. Its no big deal, it will be updated in a few days.
We know that Nolan is working hard on the rating system. Wish to thank him for his great work. Know the people that came to the ‘Western Michigan Open II’, only a few members know of the great projects what the federation has done over the past year.
Would it be a nice idea, the affiliate can sell itself its’ own affiliate membership in the TD/A. I know its not going to have any discount. If the person that sells the membership could see it, if in a good mood could renewal the affiliate online. It might even be a good idea to have a one, two and three year affiliate membership to sell. As it has always been for a one year membership.
Affiliate memberships require entering a lot more information than individual memberships. There’s no easy way to enter those fields or to restrict it to just a renewal of THAT affiliate, so this is a lot of work for very few actual transactions, possibly as few as 1 per year per affiliate.
Thats ok, if its’ not in the TD/A. Would it be a idea to have more then a one year membership for the affiliate. As members we have a choice to pay for a one, two or three year membership. As it has been for years, affiliate membership are done one year at a time.
It does not even need a multi-year discount. It could be one year $40, two year $80 and three year $120. There are a number of chess clubs that plan to be around for years. Every time the affiliate has a renewal, a affiliate package is sent out with that certificate. Its’ just a idea to save time at the office, and time for the organizer of the club. Its’ also a way to bring in some up front money, as you can get $40 once every three years or $120 in one year.
