Any experience directing and organizing KO

My apologies. I skip over these forums or any read one section (which presently is “All Things Chess”). I haven’t checked out USCF Issues for instance in quite awhile.

I am interested in general information. Or should that be any information? I have no specific questions in mind. Which I understand is not particularly helpful.

Anyway I think the issue has gone away.

The NCAA basketball tournament attracts a ton of interest, but do people really think it is a fair way to determine a champion. The pro sports best-of-7 model does a much better job on that score.

To that end, a knockout speed tournament might be a great TV draw, but I wouldn’t want to decide a major chess title that way.

By rendering the regular season essentially irrelevant. :sigh:

And why are the Super Bowl and the World Cup finals the two most popular sporting events on TV, both with worldwide audiences in the billions?

I wonder if I’m just imagining this, or if I’m actually remembering something… (Impending-if-not-at middle age is several words that would not pass the censor. So I’ll just give a few pound keys of my own: ####, ####, ####, ####, #### )

But seriously, did ICC at one point allow for KO Tourneys to be run via Tomato? And does it still? I thought I recalled C-shouts for KO tourneys at one point. But it has been over a decade since I’ve been on ICC.
