chess interface for Mac?

Hi,
Does anyone know a good Chessbase-like program for Macs?
Thanks a lot!
Elizabeth

Elizabeth,
I think the best plan is to install windows in a virtual machine. Something like VMware (free) or Parallels should work well. I’m planning to install VMware on my new Mac and stop having to lug around my PC laptop with all my chess stuff. That way I can directly run Chessbase/Fritz et al. on a Windows VM.
I can provide an update once I’ve got everything working in a month or so.

If you are looking for a good database for Macs, I like Exachess. You can try a lite version first. It’s stable, simple, does what it needs to do. It DOES NOT read the current ChessBase files, though it does read the older files. See exachess.com

Much cheaper than running virtual windows and buying chessbase.

I have suggested to chessbase that they should develop and sell a separate file converter since they don’t plan on being in the Mac market.

(They have ChessBase Lite, which can convert CB files to pgn, but only when running on Windows.)
