I am going to contact a troop in Vancouver and see if maybe I could help local
scouts get the badge. I was a boy scout many many years ago.
You will probably be asked to register as a merit badge counselor. You have the required skills for the MB. The registration will require a background check as part of the BSA youth protection system.
What progress has been made towards a Girl Scott merit badge for chess?? I know the idea was mentioned when the announcement was made in 2011 about the Boy Scout badge.
