Has anyone tried an Open House to get people to attend a club?
With phone calls first of course
What’s a club open house? My club is always open to all. I assume that that is not what you mean.

Hmmmm…no, we haven’t tried this.
So you’re thinking some kind of event to boost attendance at your club. I’m intrigued.
A grand opening, perhaps? A grand re-opening? Celebrate Capablanca’s (or Fischer’s or Steinitz’s or…) birthday? What would a chess club party look like? Free lessons? Chess clinic? A lecture? A simul? A free unrated blitz tournament? Milk and cookies? This could be fun, but you need something to bring 'em out.
The timing you suggest might be good. Yeah that is what I am thinking. I guess I will try phone calls and email first. Summer is (almost) over. Time to get back to club.
