Many here may know, and many may not, but the UTD pulled the scholarship money for the Denker tournament. Thing is: the kids don’t know. They are qualifying in every state, but to what end?

What happens to these kids who worked so hard for this?
I believe they’re working on a replacement for UTD, but until the paperwork is signed it would be premature to announce anything.

My goal is not to start anything, but people do have a right to know about this. What if a replacement isn’t made? What if kids had their heart set on UTD? Anyway, I hope, for the sake of the kids who are training so hard for this opportunity, that something is done for them. Thanks again.
Please don’t expect me to defend UTD’s decision to stop offering those scholarships.
Unless I misread my post, I don’t think I ever asked you to defend anything. I simply asked what will happen to the kids, since they are the most important out of all of this.
And the obvious answer is, we do not know yet.

It’s quite obvious that you are being way too defensive on this subject. I asked a question, you provided an answer, and that really should have been it, unless new details emerge. It is my HOPE that the kids aren’t hurt by this, but of COURSE we’ll have to wait and see, no one is asking for a miracle to be done. At least someone did respond on the subject since everyone else seems to be scared to discuss it, so thank you at least for that.
We are certainly unhappy about the news. But what else can we do? USCF can’t offer to replace the money itself, imho.
