We have a good group of 20+ kids regularly coming to high school chess this year. Most are juniors and seniors, but there are two interesting 9th grade boys who have found each other. After playing a nice slow game and watching them I went off to be with the other kids. Toward the end of our hour and a half, I noticed the 9th graders with a book going over a game between Kasparov and Anand taken from a Chess for Dummies they had gotten from a library shelf. Very cool of them. Best of all, they’ll be around for a few years.
