Nakamura's ego, anti-Americanism

I suppose I should say something about the original topic, i.e. Nakamura’s alleged arrogance. I’m personally a big fan, but certain comments may have contributed to whatever negative reputation he may have, e.g. saying that none of the upcoming juniors (circa 2007) would be as good as he was. This may turn out to be true or false (I’m guessing false), but I thought it was not quite a justified statement to make.

People are allowed to have and express strong opinions without any justification other than that is how they feel.

Well, no one is disputing GM Nakamura’s 1st Amendment rights here; it goes without saying that he is legally allowed to say whatever he thinks – in fact, I’ll go one further and state that legally, he can even say what he doesn’t think (unless he were under oath, of course). My statement was that certain comments of his may help explain why some consider him arrogant or egotistical. I agree with the previous posts in that I’ve seen very little evidence of that in recent years, and the one time I met him in person (in 2010) he seemed like a nice guy.
