I disagree. It appears to me that both interpretations are consistent with the rule as written. Can you provide a proof or argument otherwise?

Actually we don’t have an example on point. That is why we are having this discussion.

I don’t have my rule book with me, so maybe I’m mistaken, but I thought DrCheck’s post (first reply in this thread) was correct. I was taking the discussion to be about whether that’s what the rule should be, or whether a TD should excercise judgement to make a different call.

Yes.

This is not a difficult color decision at all; I have dealt with tougher situations.
