Two new features on TD/A

As part of the rewrite of the TD/Affiliate Support Area, I’ve added two features to the list of things TDs and affiliates can request. I’ve just back-ported these two new programs to the current TD/Affiliate Support Area.

  1. You can now generate a list of a TD’s directing experience which will include all events where that person has served as the Chief TD or Assistant Chief TD of the event, as a Section Chief or Assistant Section Chief, as an assistant TD or was the TD who uploaded and submitted the rating report online. (This is something we hope to add to MSA at some point, but MySQL chokes on the queries to do it.)

  2. Some months ago I mentioned a program I wrote that generates a PDF file with board number ‘tent’ signs for my events. I’ve parameterized it and made it available on TD/A.

Nice features, thanks Mike.

Many scholastic tournaments have multiple sections that rarely start with board #1. Having the ability to pick the starting board number would make the tool more useable.

On the TD experience lookup I got a “fatal error” message on three of the four td’s I ran.

Grant, I can add a ‘starting board #’ field when I work on that program again, probably some time in September.

Mostly I was using it as a test of the new website, since it utilizes some features that have caused problems with web browsers in the past.

For now I suggest you generate the board #'s you need but don’t print the low-numbered ones.

The problem with the error message was a SQL encoding error, which has been fixed.
