It’s coming.
A little more relevant info would be nice than a phrase…

Best,

What is the “Golden League”? I never click on links, so if someone could please describe it here…
Perhaps it will not be a copyright violation if I reproduce the beginning of a February 3, 2015 article from The Telegraph: telegraph.co.uk/culture/ches … -year.html
Today, hopefully.

So, if Kasparov and Rex are the main money men, how many years is their commitment going to run with this series? I don’t see TV/Internet rights generating significant revenue in relation to the amount of the prize fund. It also appears Kirsan and his minions are not in this loop-----a good thing, IMO.
I speculated in another thread (under Chess Life Articles) that it would take up to 5 years of the “Chess Tour” to make an impact and attract “real” (based on profit) sponsorship vs “depending upon the kindness of strangers.”
Although the webcasts are probably just additional expenses, at present, in time they could be viable sources of income. The recent US Championship had over 500,000 hits, albeit representing just 100,000 or so different viewers, but it will be interesting to see if the 2015 Sinquefield Cup adds significantly to that number. Rex Sinquefield’s son, Randy, runs Spectrum Studios that has handled the webcasts form the CCSCL, and they are a cut above other chess webcasts. Maybe, in time, a webcast of a Chess Tournament can get five million hits and attract sponsorship above and beyond all the Russian Gas and Oil companies that advertise on all the webcasts of the FIDE events, courtesy, of “our man,” Kirsan.
