Chess Review/Chess Life/CL&R DVD(s)

Recently someone mentioned that old issues of Chess Review, Chess Life, and Chess Life & Review are available on DVD, but I can’t find the post. Is/are the DVD(s) available on USCF Sales? I’ve looked and I can’t find anything.

uscfsales.com/chess-life-and … ction.html Is this of interest?
Subject: Why algebraic notation? Is that the post?

To follow-up on this - digital editions online go back to 2006 (this will be easier to access on the new website I assume.)

There are destructive copying services that I believe could digitize the interim issues for $1/magazine. Assume full sets exist, we should contact some (the best price I have found is bookscan.us/)

Yes it is. Thanks! I have a collection of old issues of the magazines but it’s not complete and some of the older issues are in bad condition.

As I said in that earlier post, this four DVD set for $40 is a fantastic bargain. You get all the issues of Chess Life for 1946-1969, Chess Review for 1933-1969 and Chess Life and Review for 1969-1975. They are all pdf files and can be copied onto your hard drive however you like. The pdfs are set up having all the issues for a year in one file. The months of that year show up in a side pane so you can jump to any month. It’s a great resource for chess history, but also some great chess columns from past masters. For Bobby Fischer fans, there are some amazing articles and photos of him winning the US championship and giving simuls as as a young boy.

I totally agree. I dip back into this fantastic collection for some nostalgic browsing every now and then. I’d buy a second covering more recent years without a moment’s hesitation.

It is truly a great set to have. I do wish later years were available in this format.

Has there been any discussion on doing the rest of the issues?
