As far as clocks go, the best deal I’ve found is to order G.G.L. mechanical clocks in batches of 5 or more. Does anyone have any experience with these clocks? They seem to be about the cheapest clocks around. Are they ok?
I don’t know what programs the Trust is funding these days, but the last time I looked at their Form 990 (available on Guidestar) they were in pretty good shape financially, with in excess of $700,000 in cash. I doubt they’ve gone down a lot since then, they didn’t give the USCF much assistance during the worst part of its fiscal crisis a year ago.
However, I also know that at least one Trustee is adamantly opposed to subsidizing prisoners in any form, and I think their primary focus is scholastic chess.
Did know some time back, there was a section so a person could give money for the prison program. So when does the term of office ends for this Trustee? As there are so many people that hate anything that is a entitlement program. Just having a inmate in a cell is a entitlement program.
Public education is a entitlement program for the students; highways and roads is a entitlement program; even the military is a entitlement program – as whos says the goverment needs to defend you from the Canadians marching into you’re city.
