Coaches

Hi, I am currently supervising our local clubs meetings at a family museum on Saturdays for anyone to come and play skittles, learn how to play, and have fun. One of the people who has been attending regularly has asked me to coach them privately. I am working on getting my Coaches Certification from the USCF, but I am not sure what to charge or where to begin with the coaching. Any help will be appreciated.

Considering you are working on your Coach Certification and that you are actively involved at your local club level, I can imagine that you know quite a bit about chess and chess coaching already.
So there must be something about this particular student that makes you uncomfortable. IMHO, when dealing with beginners your ability to teach is much more important then your playing strength. On a higher level, I read somethere that your practical strength should exceed by 400 + rating points the practical strength of your student for him to get maximum benefit. My simple suggestion is that you teach what you know best, be it openings, end game or middle game or simple tactics.
In terms of charging rates, those range from $10 - $100 per hour. My suggestion is that provided this is likely to be your first experience with private coaching to start on the lower level of this range. Once you gain necessary coaching experience and several happy students, you can start gradually increase your rates.
