I wrote my own software and my friend would like to play against it. Since I am the original author of the program, how do we go about getting it rated if we decided to pursue it?
In theory, the USCF has a “Computer Rating Agency” for this, but it’s been completely dormant for about 15 years. If you applied to the office for a computer rating, I suppose they would have to dust off the regulations and resuscitate it.
I remember reading it as one of the tests for the Local TD, and my friend bet me like $100 he could beat it in a rated match, so I was going to go for it. I didn’t see anything online for a new membership, but I guess I couldn’t play my friend in a match since it wouldn’t have a rating.
