curious

is there a place it identify suspended players on the Internet?

Does the USCF do that? They used to

There is not currently a central list of suspended players, but if the player’s member record has been coded as suspended that suspension will show on MSA. (There is no ‘status’ field in the rating supplement file, so there’s no way to indicate suspended players, duplicate IDs, deceased players, etc. there.)

However, there are only four players coded as suspended in our records at this time. Whether there should be more of them is an administrative question, not a technical one.

Mike, there is such a list in the hard copy of the 2007 Annual Rating list dated December 2007. It covers Suspended members and TDs; lots of both. I assume a current list will be provided when the 2008 Annual Rating list comes out in a few weeks. I’ve never searched for this info on the website, but I suspect it may be there.

There will be no printed 2008 annual ratings list, the Delegates discontinued it as a cost-savings measure.

I suggest question regarding how many players and TDs there should be on the suspended lists should go to the office. They have the ability to enter this information into USCF member records.

I think the plan is to make those lists available on the TD/Affiliate Support Area rather than on the public website.

Thanks for this info; I did not know.

Mike: Can a printed copy be purchased?

I agree that it should be in TD/TLA area. To protect privacy.

Hand the PDF file to Kinkos…problem solved.

The supplement pages themselves from the 2008 Annual List are already available for download, the PDF document is 225 pages long. There are no plans to create a PDF of the annual list as it would have been printed in years past, ie, with all the front matter pages like the Top 100 lists.

The office can print a double-sided copy of the supplement pages, but they have no equipment to bind it, though that’s probably something they could have done, possibly at the Staples in Crossville.

I also don’t know what they would charge to print and mail it out.
