We are reviving the Decatur Il chess club! We meet on Tuesdays at 6pm at Doherty’s Pub and Pins, 224 E Williams St., Decatur, IL.
We have applied to be an affiliate with the USCF and would like to run tournaments. Any ideas or suggestions anyone has would be appreciated. Other local club’s advice would be greatly appreciated (Bloomington, Springfield, Champaign)!!!

Yeah, the meetup site is our website for now, and probably until Winter when I’ll have time to create one for real.
We would love to play inter-club matches! That is one of our goals, actually! Also, when we get to that stage, having you assist us directing a tournament would be fantastic!
So far, we have about 14 people interested, but not all of them show up. The last three Tuesdays in a row we’ve had 8 people each night. We are hoping to get more interest in the coming weeks.
If you feel like travelling to Decatur some Tuesday, dinner is on me. Also, feel free to join our meetup site, it’s free, and I think that the more members that are on there, the more likely other people are to join it. I’ll check out your website!
