How do I renew our affiliate online ? Can I use the batch form that is used for individual members ? Thanks !
Tom H.
Tom,
It looks like the only way is still to click on JOIN/RENEW at the top of the uschess.org home page. Then select Club (Affiliate) from the link bar just below the header. That takes you to a form that begins the process. This works for everything except for State Chapter Affiliates.
State Chapter Affiliates have to use the Official Affiliate Application form linked from the Brochures and Forms page. You can go directly to it at
uschess.org/about/forms/AFFI … CATION.pdf
This form can be faxed in with credit card payment or mailed in with a check.

There will eventually be an affiliate renewal form on the new website that can be submitted online. That’s not at the top of the priority list at this time, though other parts of the new website (individual memberships and online tournament registration) are a higher priority.
Mike,
A while back you posted an entry that implied that USCF might act as a clearing house to accept credit card payments for tournaments. Has anything progressed on this? I would like to move a larger fraction of our registrations to be pre-registrations and alllowing some kind of totally web based system would be a big step.
Thanks,
Mike
I am working to set up a tournament fundraiser. I got a lot of the legwork done but need to get an affiliate. I am willing to pay to start one but don’t know how. I looked all over this website without success and called and left a message at the headquarters which was never returned. Any help?

Click on Join/Renew at the top. Then click on the Club (Affiliate) page. I’ve done this the last couple of years.
I tried this a few weeks ago and got an email saying that the transaction had to be processed manually. I renewed it over the phone with Jim Johanson. I am still waitng for the packet.

Myself had to do it manually as well. It was a early renewal, and did a online renewal of the affiliate. Think the reason why its’ processed manually, most affiliate officers are only changed in the USCF records when the affiliate has a renewal in the first place.
There are a number of affiliates that have expired over the years, when someone use a expired affiliate name an number. In theory it would be under a new contact person. With only 2,000 active affiliates, its’ not that much of a big deal if its’ done manually. If the affiliate will be having tournaments, it would be wise to have the affiliate current expired membership being more months out then scheduled tournaments.
