They’ve been held, players didn’t like the pairings.

Under the current rules players have claimed coming up with “better” pairings (generally ones that inconvenience somebody else) and the deterministic Swiss rules can be cited to show why the pairings given were the best available.

With random pairings players will virtually always be able to come up with “better” pairings.

Actually, it’s probably more accurate to say that SOME players didn’t like random pairings, others may have liked them a lot! :slight_smile:
