National Chess Day 2014 and into the future

Below is the language from the National Chess Day motion from the EB meeting this past weekend. It includes wording to make it an annual program implemented by the office so that it doesn’t require an EB motion each year. Plenty of time for organizers to get their plans and tournaments ready.

Not a complaint, just curious why a one day event on the actual National Chess Day (10/11) would not qualify for free TLA.

I think that’s a typo in (b), it should probably say the 11th. I seem to recall that last year 1, 2 and 3 day events which had some or all rounds on Saturday all got both a free TLA (up to 6 lines) and free ratings fees, though.

There aren’t a lot of Friday-Saturday events, but should they get NCD benefits the same way that Saturday-Sunday and Friday-Saturday-Sunday events do?

I’ve notified Jean Hoffman of this possible typo.

Yes, a typo… Used last year’s motion for a template. Fixable

thanks
