New Game Of The Week, Colorado Informant in pdf and more

Greetings,

This Tuesday the Colorado Springs Chess Club is having its annual meeting to elect officers and determine the direction of the club for the upcoming year. Come and voice your opinions!

The club Speed Championship is being held in 2 weeks after that (Jan 24 & 31). Come and play 5 min chess to get your name engraved into history!

Also, I tested out a new way of posting games to my website (cschess.webs.com/) with Imre Barlay’s win over NM Brian Wall in this weekend’s Al Ufer tournament. Check it out!

You can even browse over to the links page and find a direct link to my article in the first online edition of the Colorado Informant or click here: colorado-chess.com/informant/Jan … df#page=22

That is all I’ve got unless you are an 85 Bears fan like me!

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR COLORADO SPRINGS CHESS PLAYERS

— This Saturday the Al Ufer Memorial tournament will be held in the Masonic Lodge in Manitou Springs. See the CSCA website for details.

— Next Tuesday, January 10, is the date for the annual Membership Meeting of the Colorado Springs Chess Club. Please attend and let us know your thoughts. It will start around 8:00 with chess to follow.

— Also, the Club Speed Championship will be held on January 24 and 31.

— The January issue of the Colorado Chess Informant is on the CSCA website at colorado-chess.com

where you can read or download it. Fred Spell has done his usual great job with it.

— Bad news: I have heard from the management of the Territory Days Festival that they have other plans for Bancroft Park that don’t include us. We can apply for a booth out on the street with the others, but that would cost us a lot of money. So it looks like that chapter in Colorado Springs chess has come to an end.
