City Championship Update & Cheating Update

Greetings,

The Colorado Springs 2012 City Championship started last Tuesday. There is still time to join and get 3 rounds of chess. Defending champ, Dan Avery, is back to regain his title along with 11 others. See calendar for details:

Here are the current standings:

City Championship Results, Round 1:

1.0 Paul Anderson
1.0 Buck Buchanan
1.0 Mark McGough
1.0 Alex Torres
1.0 Peter Grigg
0.5 Jeff Fox
0.5 Koji Del Conte
0.0 Dan Avery
0.0 Brian Rountree
0.0 Mike Madsen
0.0 Wesley Holmes
0.0 Wesley Smith

My 1st round game was a rematch (from Panera Wednesday) with Brian Rountree. Brian was nice enough to extend my USCF no loss streak to 19 games and my USCF winning streak to 10 games, which is more than I can say for Dean Brown, who ended both streaks.

In addition, Tim Brennan got mentioned on the USCF website for his Tactics Time newsletter on National Chess Day:

He also rebutted his dissenters on his electronic score sheet stance with his rapier wit like carving up a big bird!
