There is a new option on the TD/Affiliate Support Area menu:

Copy a pending event

There is probably only one situation in which copying an event is needed. The 12 digit event ID is based on the tournament ending date. If the tournament ending date is entered wrong, there is no way to change it.

Keeping the tournament ending date and the event ID in sync is desirable because it allows people to search for events with the same ending date quickly in MSA, just by typing the date. For example, entering 20060302 will show all events that ended on March 2nd.

What this new feature gives you is a way to copy a pending event, changing the tournament ending date. It will generate a new 12 digit Event ID based on the new tournament ending date.

(Please remember to delete the original copy of the event once you’re sure you don’t need it.)

I also put up new main menus for the TD/Affiliate Support Area on Saturday, I think they’re a lot cleaner than the old ones, which had gotten cluttered.

I’m sure there is still room for improvement in them, though. (I need to redo the login screen, too.)
