so they must wear masks or face coverings during play. Please bring your own, but
masks will be available for $1 apiece for those who forget to bring them.
Clocks, chess boards and pieces will be sanitizer-wiped before each game and
hand sanitizers will be on the tables. We will ask parents to sit in the hallway or in the
Food Court to keep the occupancy of the room under 25, as required by the Governor’s
order.
Lunch:
Because the Food Court restaurants are not all open, you may wish to
bring your own lunch.
Importance
: We hope to demonstrate that over-the-board, rated games can be
held if we are mindful and careful. We need to generate income for the chess club while
offering players, especially young players, the opportunity to improve. Chess can also
provide much-needed summer activities for kids.

If anyone else wants to donate to the club to help us keep activities going during
these times it will be greatly appreciated. You may designate how you want your
donation to be used.

Good luck-I hope it works out

A PCC board member wrote on Facebook that “This event has been canceled due to low turnout and troubling COVID statistics, probably not unrelated.”
