Rating Supplement cutoff and publication

I know I should know the answer to these, but…

  1. How often are Rating Supplements published? Is it monthly now?

  2. What is the cutoff date for a tournament to get into the next published supplement?

The USCF rating supplements are published monthly. The cutoff for an event to get rated is the evening of the first Friday of every month. For example, the October list should include most events from August, including the last weekend of August (this year it was Labor Day weekend) as long as the organizer uploads the tournament within 4 or 5 days. In fact, you can already find your October rating on the MSA site, although it won’t be official for two more weeks.

So, the first Friday of the month prior to the publication.

For the remainder of 2008, that would be:

  • cutoff Sep 5 - published Oct 1
  • cutoff Oct 3 - published Nov 1
  • cutoff Nov 7 - published Dec 1
  • cutoff Dec 5 - published Jan 1, 2009
