Rule 15A changes and Draw Offers

In researching my draw question of last week, I came across a puzzler with regard to the new rule 15A and making certain draw claims. To claim a draw for triple occurenc of position, the player is instructed to write the move down but not make the move.

This would seems a clear violation of new rule15 A: “The player must first make the move, and then record it on the score sheet”.

What’s the procedure here?

This was discussed in an earlier topic.

Try using the “search” option at the top of this forum. I used it to search for “15A AND draw.” I came up with several hits including:

Thanks for the quick reply. It was buried in there, but I see now that draw claims are considered an exception to rule 15A.

Thanks,
Randy

As I recall, the revisions to rule 15A were to become effective on January 1st. Is there some place on the website that explains the new rule? There is a brief mention in a TD Corner article and an essay by Macauley Peterson that discusses some individual’s opinion of the new rule, but I can’t find an ‘official’ announcement on either the old or new websites.

It's probablly next to the part about your December rating not being valid in January.
