Split result ratable?

Situation: Player A was short on time, and kept offering draws to the opponent, Player B. Opponent kept turning him down. Player A was blitzing off moves and nether player is keeping score. At some point player A offers a draw. Player B said A made the draw offer before making his move, and after he made his move player B accepts the draw offer. Player A claims he had made a move, offered a draw, player B made a move, player A made another move and B tried to claim a draw.

There were no witnesses and no score. Player A had been making repeated draw offers when he was losing and when it was even but he was way down on time. However it was unclear whether he had made an improper draw offer that B was trying accept after he made his move. He was sure she had moved after he made his last draw offer, she said he had not moved.

With a lack of witnesses it was ruled that the game should continue. Player A won the game. B felt the TDs had taken his side by allowing the game to continue instead of upholding the draw claim.

I know Swiss-Sys allows split results such as W for A, D for B for situations where the result may be in dispute. This is useful when deciding prizes, but can the game be rated that way?

I believe the answer is YES.

Take a look at the 2008 National High School K12 players 2 and 19 in the last round.

Maybe it has been manually done because the upload process kept rejecting the result and giving an error.

I’d guess that the rating report contains “W” and “D” codes for the split result, and that will cause validation to fail with an “inconsistent result” error. I think you need to go to the “edit tournament” page and change the result codes for the split result to “N”, “R”, or “L” (win, draw, or loss) as appropriate.

I will give my usual answer: Check the FAQ on TD/A, this question is covered there.
