Has any chess group ever gotten CHESS to be a part of the State Games group in their state? I just noticed there are State Game groups in many states and there is a national group also. Some states seem to have senior groups, summer games and winter games. Might be good for CHESS to be a part of
a statewide group and might lead to sponsorship of some chess events. Of course the prizes would be medals or trophies and probably not require
USCF membership.
I know that Mike Nolan has said that he used to direct the chess section of the Nebraska state games. I know that USCF membership is not required to have them rated.

Thanks, right you are Alex. I found the TLA for 2013 on the Nebraska State Games website. I am hoping that maybe the Oregon Chess Federation and Washington Chess Federation can get the state groups to add chess in future years.
Kentucky has chess as a compenent of its state games. I think only Ky and Nebraska do it. Steve Dillard was the drivning force behind getting this into the Ky games years ago.
There is a rule exception that allows such games to be USCF rated even if the players are not USCF members.
“Rules exception?” Where is this exception that allows non-members to play?
