Call it idle curiosity, but we’re all wondering: where on earth does USCF get 2000 or so chess sets for the Supernationals, and where do all those sets go once the event is over?
I can only tell you what I know happened at the last SuperNationals.
The sets were supplied by the organization that won the bid for the tournament, not the USCF.
As it drew to a close, announcements were made that the sets could be bought by anyone interested.
Six months later, Ralph Bowman was still peddling them around town! 
A perfect opportunity! Sell them to the organizers of next year’s event!
