Is there a current tournament clearinghouses link on the new site? I see that the old page hasn’t been updated since 2022: The United States Chess Federation - Tournament Clearinghouses
tournament-clearinghouse-list.pdf (uschess.org)
I found this from the bottom of the home page → Tournament Directors → Tournament Clearinghouses. Not sure that is the right spot for it but it is there although I don’t see a date on it.
Thanks. That’s probably a little more current although I see at least one zip range that needs an update.
Contact the state affiliate and ask them to send an updated listing to governance@uschess.org.
I emailed the name given for Alaska zip codes and received no response.
Since there is no current Alaska state affiliate, and since I am the only Alaska TD, this isn’t really an issue, but should I recommend they change the person to me?
What exactly is entailed with becoming the state affiliate, does it cost money, or is it burdened with extra responsibilities?
The lack of response may be a symptom of not having a functioning state affiliate unfortunately. Not sure if the office will change that or not. You can try them.
The state affiliate is an affiliate just like any other affiliate with added responsibilities. See article VIII of the US Chess Bylaws and the bottom of page 1 of the Delegate Actions of Continuing Interest (DACIs) which are both linked below. Note that there is a June 1 deadline to submit applications to become the state affiliate. This allows the office, EB and Delegates the ability to review credentials prior to the Delegates’ Meeting.
