Is it within the guidelines to host an 18 round quad? Where each player plays every other player 6 games? (Dual rated at g/30).
Would it be considered a match? Or a tournament? Also, if it was an invitational, would that affect whether it would be considered a match or a tournament?
If it would be considered a series of matches instead of a tournament, is there some way to change the event format to make it a tournament (such as 2 games vs each opponent?)?
I want to stay within the guidelines of a tournament but also create something more long-term.
If it is long term then it would probably be better anyway to break it up into multiple events (maybe every month or two). If you are doing that then a double-RR quad would have an on-line submission rating fee of 50 cents per round, and the six rounds would be the minimum rating fee or $3. That sounds like a good splitting point to get the ratings updated in a timely manner without incurring additional expense.
