RIP, Mr Browne. i remember witnessing a great game at the us championship in oberlin in '76(?) where he won a brilliant najdorf. Truly one of the masters of attack.
Here is his MSA record. In his last tournament he had three wins, one loss against a 2697 and two half-point byes (4 points), which I am guessing was good for a prize about half the size of the 12th place money (12-way split of 10-15 after pulling out one U2300 with 4 that would have taken that prize and having two U2400s with 4.5 split the U2400 money instead of sharing in the higher place prizes).
(If FIDE ratings were used for prize purposes then the calculations would be different).
