Because the only way to revive an account transferred over from the old Forums is to reset the password via email, we are seeing people set up new accounts because they don’t get the password reset email, either because of ISP issues (see below) or because they no longer have access to the old email address.
If you wind up with more than one account, we can help you consolidate them, as Discourse will only allow an email address to be associated with one login account. When we tie Forum logins to your member dashboard, you will need to select just one Forum account to be associated with your member ID.
You can associate more than one email address with an account, but only the primary email address is used for password reset messages.
We have multiple reports of password reset messages sent to Yahoo addresses taking several hours to arrive, this appears to be an anti-spam measure at Yahoo that we are working to get lifted. Problems with messages sent to Hotmail, Outlook and AOL addresses may also occur.
To request assistance with getting a password reset, you can send email to forums@uschess.org. We may be able to change the email address on your existing account to one you can access.
To consolidate multiple accounts, you can either send an email to forums@uschess.org or send a PM to @staff.
