I celebrated the new year by winning the 29th City Speed Chess Championship! Actually, in an unprecedented move, I agreed to share the title with Lawrence Scafuri! THERE ARE TWO WINNERS!! After finishing with identical scores, Lawrence and Paul agree to SHARE the #ColoradoSprings City Blitz #Chess Champion title! Absolutely insane on New Years Eve :tada:

I am also celebrating my 10th year of consecutive weight loss. So, I put out a new blog that will appear in the upcoming Colorado Chess Informant. But you can see the sneak preview before it goes statewide!

Congratulations on both the tournament win and your sustained weight loss. I’ve taken off nearly 50 pounds since February using a keto diet regimen and have about another 30 to go to reach my goal weight.

Thanks! Keep up the good work. I’ve had to keep making adjustments on the diet, but as long as I track the calories, I had success, even if it is just one pound in a year. :slightly_smiling_face:
