Greetings,
I was behind on my Wallmails, and I ran across one that mentioned Bobby Fischer:
A response would have been more appropriate on the 9th, as that was Bobby’s birthday. But I thought I would respond anyway, as my Dad is Bobby’s Twin (being born on the same day)!
Plus, being a Michael Jordan fan, I had to point out that he only missed the 8-peat because his father was murdered and he took 2 years off from basketball during his run of 6 titles! Da Bulls!
Here is some of my Bobby Fischer stuff. The old blog even has a game from the 2008 Burden Award winner, Tim Fisher. The Burden Award is for a game where you drop your Queen but still win, and the 2024 Burden Award winner should be announced this April Fools Day!

I got to play with the 3D printed King!
Billy Nixon asked if the club needed any chess pieces. Coincidently, I had gone through the club’s graveyard of lost pieces and, despite having dozens of extra queens, rooks, bishops, knights, and pawns, we had no kings and one almost-complete set that lacked a black king. So, Billy went to work. Many thanks!
The March Swiss 90 is at the half way point with Mark McGough in the lead. Can he hold on and claim his first prize of the year?
