Good chess friend Bruce Potratz has passed away. He would hang out at many Illinois chess events hoping to be paired as a “house player.” While his rating was low, now-a-days he could still be counted on to essay a contest worthy of a player rated hundreds of points higher. He loved playing his friends in matches. RIP Bruce.
