Fun little video. Interesting comparisions. And nice close up of the USCF logo on the clock.
Thanks for posting… very entertaining. As an afficiando of both games, I really enjoyed it. And as a Phillies and Yankees fan (grew up near NY; moved most recently to greater Philly), this October promises to be special.
I have always enjoyed it when people told me “baseball is a thinking-man’s game”, but even in Div.III ball (many years ago) I wasn’t afforded much time to “think” about 90+mph fastballs. So I kept my day job.
Likewise with chess - I enjoy it best when I remind myself it’s not my livelihood! Had a nice win last night against a lower-rated (but improving!) player, and he took me to the wall. That, and the daily news, keeps this all in perpsective. (BOTH baseball, and chess.)
As a Yankee supporter, I could not imagine a better successor to Joe Torre… than Joe Girardi. But even his players got a laugh out of him playing a ‘serious’ blitz game. “You mean… it’s not five minutes… PER MOVE?!?” Very entertaining piece…thanks for posting.
(BTW, Joe G. looks more confident against the Angels, as I ‘speak’… thankfully, for both MLB and USCF.)
