CT Scholastic Championship Results?

Does anyone have a link for the results of this past weekend’s tournament in Hartford? I can’t find a web site listing results. Thanks.

EDIT: Oops, I thought I had it but it was the wrong tournament. The Sponsoring Affiliate was likely Educational Technologies CC (A6018612) but there is nothing on the MSA site for April. So, it may not have been rated yet.

It’s interesting development that questions about an event now arise within 2-3 days of when the event ends.

BTW, as I think I have reported before, I recently did an analysis of events submitted, in the past six months or so around 25% of them were rated the same day they ended.

A friend took his son to play but he did not know if it was a rated event. My buddy is kind of out there at times. The fee was $20 but I don’t think that included a USCF junior membership. I’m surprised the organizers didn’t have a web site. They do for their cheer leading events. :unamused:

BTW it was advertised as the Connecticut Scholastic Chess Competition.

Um, advertised where?

If it was in a TLA in Chess Life or on the USCF’s Online TLA Service, then unless sections were specifically noted as non-rated players would have the expectation of the event being USCF rated.

I believe is it still the case that TDs have a week to mail an event to the USCF, so the event is hardly considered ‘late’ yet.

Aside from situations in which events and memberships aren’t being submitted at all, I don’t think the USCF has started getting aggressive with TDs and/or affiliates who habitually submit their events or memberships late, though I suppose there may come a time when the office should start doing that.

BTW, if all directors and/or organizers were as prompt getting their events submitted as Steve Immitt, issues such as this would be nonexistent.

I don’t think there was a TLA on it. Maybe this was all a hallucination on my friends part. Seriously, there has to be a result somewhere. I just hate the idea of having to make phone calls to the organizers–too retro in 2007.

I have been in contact with some CT officials (on an unrelated matter), as a sidebar to that discussion I have asked them what the status of this event is, so far I have not gotten a response, but maybe I haven’t contacted the right organizer yet.

Thanks. This must be the Magical Mystery Tournament.
