Hi !
I recently, ( about a week ago ), posted an Online TLA for the $14,000 UCONN S. of E. Scholarship Tnt. and don’t yet see it on the state listings’ page. Any info on this ? Thanks !

Tom, according to our logs you have not yet submitted that online TLA for review and approval.
Also, at present the only place the online TLAs appear is in the new Online TLA Service page, because there is currently no interconnection between the Online TLA Service and the TLAs in Chess Life.
That will change, probably in October, as we’re working on replacing the program that the publications office has been using to prepare TLAs for the magazine with the Online TLA Service form, so that not only will all TLAs that are sent to the USCF to be in Chess Life be available through the new Online TLA Service, but so will all TLAs entetered by affiliates, even if they are not going to be in Chess Life at all.
While using the Online TLA Service data for multiple purposes will help the office be more efficient, that’s not the only reason for developing the Online TLA Service. The USCF rates about 7000 events a year but Chess Life only has TLAs for about 2000 of them. Certainly some of the 5000 events that weren’t in the magazine would benefit from a free online listing.
Further, when this conversion is complete, organizers will also be able to view proofs of their print TLAs and order their Chess LIfe and Chess L ife for Kids insertions through the Online TLA Serivce form. That means they will be able to have their TLAs online quickly while ordering their magazine insertions, both from the same data. I’m hopeful that when that happens we will be able to extend the deadline for submission of print TLAs through the Online TLA Service. (But that’s Daniel Lucas’s decision to make.)
It is likely that by the end of October the state-by-state TLA pages on the website as well as the national and grand prix pages will go away in favor of the Online TLA Service search page.
Hi Mike,
I submitted an online TLA for approval about 10 days ago, but have heard nothing back, yet.

Jon, our logs don’t show that you ever submitted it for approval. Maybe something hiccoughed, try submitting it for approval again.
Nolan,
Thanks for your speedy response ! For some reason after previewing the ad, I don’t think I hit the "Request Approval " button ! You should be seeing it soon !

The odd part about the log is the "Revised’ entry about 30 seconds after you requested approval on August 7th. (That took it out of ‘approval requested’ status, which explains why it never got reviewed.)
I’ve seen this sort of thing a couple of times. Either it’s too easy to hit the wrong button by mistake immediately after requesting approval or there’s a bug somewhere. I haven’t been able to reproduce this behavior myself, so I’m not sure which is the case.
I’ll be working on this program as part of the changes to include the ability to order Chess Life insertions, maybe I can track it down then.
It may be a ‘double submit’ problem with some browsers, I’ve seen this in some other forms as well.
Anything is possible when I first tried to submit it. It was the first time I tried using the online submission.
Hi Mike !
It’still not showing up under the CT heading, as of Tues. Aug. 22, 6:40 AM.
