Does not have information for contacting federation to fix error

It seems I’m registered twice. I have a member number from years ago I don’t remember signing up. Who would I contact to merge these? My new number has a rating but my older number does not.

I would suggest contacting Korey Kormick. His email is: korey,kormick@uschess.org

Whenever you are unsure about who on staff to contact, you should go to: Departments by staff and duties | US Chess.org

Charles,

I would try membership@uschess.org, following the Departments by staff and duties information at Departments by staff and duties | US Chess.org.

I wouldn’t start with Korey - he’s busy and also often on the road for events.

Stuff to membership I think mostly goes to Bryon in member services. He’s pretty good at handling issues raised in email.

If the older ID has no rating (not even an unpublished one, ie less than 4 games), unless you really want to keep that older ID, about all I’d recommend you do is email the office to have them flag it as a duplicated ID.

Same name different #, use new #/. One # per person. Unless house player. bryon.doyle@uschess.org to contact or laird.davis@uschess.org 1-314-661-9500 x141

Even house players have just one ID.

Then you need to have two different names for the same person. Each ID has one name. That would be a House Player.

A house player is put in the rating report using that player’s ID, not a separate one used only for house games. The only time people end up with multiple IDs is when they accidentally renew using the join (new ID) option, and even then the IDs need to be merged with one listed as “Duplicate ID” and not being usable for a rating report.

The Modern Chess Conceptions Classic in MA did back in 2019 I believe. I could be mistaken but the WWE hosted the event. It was an event that also dealt w/ Pick Up Clock.

In that event, I see a "section: for extra rated games as well as the regular sections. If players played in both, there will be an entry in both sections, but the same member ID would be used for both sections. I see a Bernard Wojnowski for whom that situation exists, for instance.

Two different ID’s were used. Two different names also. But it wasn’t Bernard Wojnowski. Somebody else did yet Bernard Wojnowski might of played this individual. With all the editing that goes on it would be pretty hard proving now since we’re talking 5 years ago.

The name I’m using for the discourse group is acceptable for the WWE.
