I sent an email last month to tdcert@uschess.org about getting the test for ANTD. So far I’ve heard nothing back. Is there another address I should use?
Thanks,
Mike Regan
It is my understanding that the person responsible for TD certification is a part time, out-sourced employee. In fact the last time I can remember a full time employee taking care of TD certification was way back in the USCF New Windsor days.
There are a lot of USCF activities that deserve more than part time attention; however, that would require full time funding. I am at a loss as to how that funding can be provided.
Ah yes, I forgot that Larry was one of the staff members that was employed in New Windsor and Crossville. I seem to recall your twin (inside joke–Ernie and Mike resemble each other), Ernie Schlich, was the last full time USCF employee I was thinking about–and that was in New Windsor.
It would appear that if there is a backlog, that perhaps others could pitch in and relieve some of the pressure?? I really have a hard time understanding why USCF appears
reluctant, to use its volunteer base.
We have dozens of very qualified Senior and above tournament directors that could handle some of the aspect of this load. Looking
at and grading the local exam should not be that big a chore. Senior, now that does take much more consideration, thought, time and
expertise. But checking for Senior qualifications should be fairly routine. Checking for qualifications for above levels, does take some
interpretation of the rule book, so that does take some time as well,
additional research is required.
