I was wondering if you had timing for being able to email tournament information through USCF rather than using mailing labels? I’m planning for some 2009 events and need to plan promotional budgets.
Right now that’s after getting all the membership changes the Delegates authorized ready to deploy, and possibly after moving the website to another server (co-located equipment owned by us but at our ISP as opposed to using their servers.)
Bill G came up with a 3rd party service we could use to do this, but I’m not sure they’re a good fit for us, because we will want to be able to do targeted mailing based on multiple factors such as geography, age, rating and tournament activity just as we do for label sets, and I’m not sure they can cope with that many selection factors.
And I don’t suppose there’s any good interim solution to just provide the emails to the organizer? The costs this will save us between mailing and production, are significant.
In compliance with its privacy policy, the USCF has no plans at this time to give or sell email addresses of its members to organizers or any other 3rd parties.
We have discussed the possibility of doing emailings on behalf of organizers for a small fee, but those emails would come from the USCF, not from the organizers.
