Filtering affiliate emails through US Chess

Is there any way to filter emails from a specific affiliate while allowing other affiliates to send information through US Chess? Alternatively, can we specify states or regions from which we wish to allow affiliate emails?

I am getting moderately annoyed by repeated (weekly) emails from a particular affiliate located on the opposite coast. These are neither National nor US Chess Grand Prix tournaments.

Most of the affiliates I care about send regular emails through their internal mailing lists. I could easily block all affiliate emails from US Chess, but would miss out on some new and exciting events. Frankly, if these emails were not weekly, then I would not even complain.

It probably depends on your email engine, affiliate email blasts do have the affiliate ID in the disclaimer at the bottom so if you can filter on content you might be able to filter out ones from a specific affiliate ID. It isn’t in the header, so there’s no way to filter it based on headers.

The email blast process is likely to change as part of the technology refresh, I don’t know what that might mean or when changes might occur. (The technology refresh is likely to involve a lot of changes, things people are used to may go away either temporarily or permanently. There may also be things that are currently not possible that become possible as a result of the technology refresh, because it’s pretty much a ground-up rebuild.)

The new system is due to come online the second week of July. Part of phase one is a significant changes in the TLA process internally, which will make the use of the same information across multiple methods of communication much easier for the office team. I think we will have the ability to do different sorts of filtering for email blasts - but one thing might be to simply tell that affiliate to get you off their list. That will likely be easier for us to do in the future than it is now - but the future starts in 7 weeks.
