Hi, I am currently developing a free tool for Tournament Directors. It allows anyone with a paypal account to be able to easily set up an online registration for any tournament. Just fill in your tournament’s information and a page will be created to gather registration information and payments through paypal. The system is still under beta testing so it may have some bugs, but I invite everyone to try out: chess.sneden.net/

This seems like a very nice tool. Is it possible to set it up where ppl could register in advance, without paying? Many small local tournaments, in my area, allow advance “notice of intent” to play, but will pay at the site. This has the affect of allowing the TD to gather all the info in advance, and allowing the players to pay the advance EF.
I assume this form would be downloadable to our websites, and that there would be no use of “cookies” or other tracking devices?
Very Interested,

I will probably add an intent to pay option. We tried that in Austin, but just got tired of it in the end. There is no use of cookies. The way the system is currently set up, the files do not need to be moved to another server. After a tournament is made, a link is given to the creator as to where the registration page is located. Feel free to create sample tournaments to see how the process works. Thank you for the input, I welcome the suggestions.

Can’t regristrants just simply send you their EF directly via paypal if you give out your email address in the TLA? That’s what I do. See my ad in the TLA. Its the first ad under New York for weekly QUADs at Baldwin High School.

That is an innovative solution, but my program allows for all of the information that would be collected in a normal registration sheet to be collected, such as address and uscf number.
Also, I am planning on making a feature to export the entries directly to WinTD. This will be especially helpful for larger tournaments.

What format will you be using to do this? I am developing a pairing program and would not be against including this feature in my software.
