how to configure Stockfish to run NNUE?

I suspect I’m not the only Luddite to have this problem.

Here’s my computer (antiquated by gamer standards, but good enough for chess):

(I could not embed the images for whatever reason, but if you hover & right-click, you should be able to open the image in a new tab.)

And the relevant Stockfish folder under Program Files

This Stockfish-build-in-progress works just fine under Chessbase 15. But I would like to activate the neural net (the *.nnue file). It seems like only one line of code needs to be run to turn NNUE default from OFF to ON, but I’m embarrassed to admit that I have no idea how to do this.

See here https://tests.stockfishchess.org/nns and here https://abrok.eu/stockfish/. Do yourself a favor & download Stockfish from this last link.

Adding to my confusion: it looks like developers are tinkering with the specs by trial and error (the old-fashioned way); are these Stockfish builds distinct from the NNUE project?

And yes, I realize this is “chess” and not “tech support,” but I think this amazing free project is of general interest to US Chess members. Even on a dinosaur machine, the power of this program is truly jaw-dropping!

Of course, the latest “official” build is available here. https://stockfishchess.org/
