IM Matyas Marek pondering a move early in hs game against National Master David Carter of Burlington.
Thanks. This is the second time that they’ve printed materials sent to them about local event, the previous one being coverage of the VT vs. NH match. I’ll have to find out if the news editor plays or follows chess.
Sen. Bernie Sanders knows David Carter. I’m hoping that we can get Bernie to make the first move in a tournament sometime in 2018. That would bet some coverage.
The tournament got some nice coverage from the Channel 7 based at Lyndon State College. The chess starts at about the 10 minute mark of the broadcast. Nice short interview of Alex Relyea. facebook.com/news7newslinc/ … 580331054/
