I will miss Jerry.
The first time I met him was many many years ago in Chicago when the Board met here and he was a member. The Board hosted a dinner for us “locals” and Jerry used his acting skills (he did community theater) to perform for us. At many a dinner after that his conversation proved most entertaining.
While he and I often were on different sides of many chess issues we also had some common interests; i.e., Harry Chapan!
Jerry wore his heart on his sleeve (as the saying goes) and it suited him well.
Ah, too bad. I met him in '05. I heard at this year’s US Open that he was sick.
Rest in peace.
