Hello everyone, here is a link to a map I created that has a list of colleges with chess clubs/programs:
Please let me know if I am missing some (I’m sure I am).

Can you please define your criteria for inclusion?

I was curious about the source of the data, too, since we have over 50 college affiliates.
Just in western Pa., I can think of the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and Grove City College. All have one or more teams in the Pittsburgh Chess League. Their club’s players also compete in the state collegiate championship. I believe there is also a club at WVU in Morgantown, WV.
Active club (regular meetings, membership, etc.); that’s it. Just trying to get a preliminary list together.
Took a look at teams that previously competed in the Pan-Ams as well as colleges that I know have programs in Western NY.
EDIT: I also used Dr. Root’s book: People, Places, Checkmates which included a nice table.
Cornell should be on the list if clubs are the basis for inclusion. They have been participating in the Amateur Team in recent years.
Please add Western Kentucky University to the list. They offer a full tuition scholarship to the winner of the WKU Mastermind Chess Tournament each year. You can read about their chess program and scholarship at the website: hilltopperchess.net/
The second prize is $2500 room/board to WKU, and third prize is $500.00 at WKU.
As the parent of a chess player who earned a few college scholarships, these all add up. I had a few
“hoitee-toties” who told me that the $1,000 scholarship offered by one local event was not worth
playing for.

I received a Scholar-Player scholarship from USCF as college freshman. Paid for all of my books plus a bit more as I recall. 1450ish rating at the time, so there are resources for sub-master players. See #10 here.
Here are a couple more Boston ones…

i think CMU has a regular club as well in pittsburgh.
They competed at the USATE and did quite well for themselves.
